On The Daily Deal, we’ll talk about Vanessa Selbst’s big win in the NAPT Mohegan Sun Main Event, reveal when ESPN will start airing NAPT tournaments, and discuss the postponement of a house committee discussion on pro-online poker bills.

Hello, I’m Sean Gibson and welcome to the Daily Deal by Poker News Daily, brought to you by PokerSource.com.

The North American Poker Tour’s Mohegan Sun Main Event ended with a bang with DeucesCracked coach Vanessa Selbst taking the title.  Selbst sat at or near the top of the leaderboard for much of the tournament in a rare wire-to-wire run.  Entering heads-up against Mike Beasley, she held a commanding seven to one chip lead.  In the final hand, Beasley shoved with QueenT en against Selbt’s Ace Eight and failed to improve to give the hometown player the title and $750,000.  The$25,000 High Roller Bounty Shootout wraps up today with a final table featuring Sam Stein, Shawn Buchanan, Faraz Jaka, Jason Mercier, Matt Glantz, and Luis Vazquez.

Speaking of the NAPT , ESPN2 will be carrying the inaugural season of the PokerStars sponsored tour starting on Monday, April 19th.  ESPN owns coverage rights to the annual World Series of Poker events through 2018  and added the NAPT to its programming this year. Lon McEachern and Norman Chad will have the call on NAPT broadcasts.

When we come back, we’ll talk about Barney Frank’s internet gambling committee hearing being postponed.

A hearing in the House Financial Services Committee scheduled for Friday, April 16th has been postponed with no makeup date announced.  The hearing was to facilitate discussion of two internet gambling bills proposed by Congressman Barney Frank.  A representative for the Poker Players Alliance told Poker News Daily that a make up date would likely be announced in the near future.  HR 2267 boasts sixty-six co-sponsors, while HR 2266 has fifty five.  The news of the delay comes just six weeks away from mandatory financial services industry compliance with the regulations of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act on June 1st.
