Poker player and media personality Bernard Lee is celebrating the fourth anniversary of The Bernard Lee Poker Show this month with two of the game’s biggest names as guests. Former World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event Champion Greg Raymer and 2009 Bluff Magazine Player of the Year Jason Mercier will join Bernard on the show, which airs Tuesdays nights on AM radio in Massachusetts and is simulcast on www.RoundersRadio.com.

Lee’s first show of the month aired on Tuesday, May 3. He and Raymer discussed the ramifications of Black Friday on the world of online poker, as well as the upcoming WSOP Rematches and a potential matchup between Raymer and David Williams. Fans will be able to vote on a matchup they’d like to see; other potential rematches include Johnny Chan vs. Erik Seidel (1988), Jamie Gold vs. Paul Wasicka (2006), and Jonathan Duhamel vs. John Racener (2010).

Two of the rematches have already been picked by ESPN. Johnny Chan will face off against Phil Hellmuth in a rematch of the 1989 Main Event, and Chris Moneymaker will go heads up against Sammy Farha in a best-of-three featured rematch. Those rematches will take place on June 2 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and will air in a two-hour special on ESPN on July 26.

Part 2 of the interview with Raymer will air on The Bernard Lee Poker Show on May 10. Mercier will join the show on May 17 and May 24. Mercier is one of the most accomplished tournament players in the world with wins at the WSOP, European Poker Tou (EPT), and the North American Poker Tour (NAPT). Last month, Mercier went back-to-back at the NAPT Mohegan Sun High Roller Bounty Shootout.

Lee’s show incorporates interviews with poker players and prominent industry personnel with poker news and tips as well. Previous guests have included WSOP champions like Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Chris Moneymaker, Jonathan Duhamel, Joseph Hachem, Peter Eastgate, Joe Cada, and Tom McEvoy. WPT commentator Mike Sexton, ESPN commentator Norman Chad and poker superstars Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel and Annie Duke have also made appearances on the show.

Aside from his radio show, Lee has had much success since becoming a regular on the live tournament circuit in 2005. Last year, Lee cashed in 10 tournaments on the live circuit, including a third place finish at the WSOP Circuit Regional Championship for $236,368. He has more than $1.75 million in career earnings, with his biggest score coming at the 2005 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, where he took 13th place for $400,000.

Lee is also a poker columnist here at Poker News Daily and writes for the Boston Herald, ESPN.com, All-In Magazine, and other media outlets. He has released two books, “The Final Table” Volume I and Volume II, which are compilations of his Sunday Herald poker columns. He is also a commentator for the WSOP and Eastern Poker Tour.

And, like many in the poker community, Lee is involved in several charitable organizations. Earlier this year, he teamed up with Cabot Cheese to create the Full House Charity Program, which will donate a minimum of $20,000 to children’s organizations around New England each year. Lee will donate $500 to the charity for each full house he makes while playing tournaments all over the world.

The Bernard Lee Poker Show airs live from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays in Massachusetts on 1120AM (Boston), 970AM (Worcester) and 1390AM (Cape Cod). The show is simulcast on Rounders Radio, the largest online poker talk radio station in the world with listeners in more than 85 countries. The show is also available via podcast on iTunes.
