If you’re a fan of the popular Merge Gaming Network site Carbon Poker, then circle March 1st on your calendars. On that date, according to information released to affiliates on Wednesday, “Carbon Poker will go live with a brand new site, look, and logo.” The room will be formally changing out all of its banner advertising on February 28th as part of a one-week transition.

Also set to change is the site’s VIP program. The information released by Carbon Poker today revealed, “The redesign includes an all-new logo, site, and VIP program, among many other things, and will resolve a number of limitations the old site had while giving us a number of key strengths to work with going forward.” More information will be released on February 23rd, less than a week before the new site goes live.

Atil Singh, Head of Acquisition for Carbon Poker, told Poker News Daily, “Big things are coming at Carbon Poker. The brand is ready to make some moves with a new VIP program, website, and logo. It’s an exciting time for players, affiliates, and management. We’ve responded to some requests from players and are ready to roll out some great rewards, benefits, and functionality.”

Carbon Poker is firing up its Super Money Tree this month, which rewards players for heading to ring games, tournaments, and sit and gos on the Merge Gaming Network room. All players have to do is rack up 100 VIP Points in a 24-hour period. When the month of February has come and gone, Carbon Poker will shell out $1 for every 75 VIP Points earned on a player’s top five qualifying days.

Players who reach 10 qualifying days of 175 VIP Points will get $1 for every 55 VIP Points earned during their top 10 days. Finally, those who reach 20 qualifying days of 250 VIP Points will nab $1 for every 25 VIP Points earned on their top 10 days. Players must opt into Carbon Poker’s Super Money Tree promotion in order to qualify.

According to PokerScout.com, the Merge Gaming Network is the 24th largest worldwide, boasting a seven-day running average of 820 real money ring game players and a 24-hour peak of nearly 1,400. At the time of writing, which is around 6:00pm ET on Wednesday, about 1,300 cash game players are logged in.

Besides Carbon Poker, the Merge Gaming Network includes sites like Lock Poker, Poker Host, Poker Nordica, and RPM Poker. The family of rooms welcomes USA action and its traffic is on par with that found on PKR.

What the new structure of the Carbon Poker VIP program will be remains to be seen, although Poker News Daily has learned that the five-tier format will remain the same. Currently, the program is split into tiers and every $1 a player spends in rake is equivalent to 10 points. Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Ether comprise the five levels right now; each has a monthly freeroll for members ranging from $500 to $3,500. 5,000 VIP Points are required to reach Earth status on Carbon Poker, while 250,000 are needed to hit Ether.

Whether we’ll see a brand new software rollout on Carbon Poker come March 1st is also not clear. The Carbon Poker client boasts options to Deal it Twice, Quick Start, and Rabbit Hunt, among other features. Its richest tournament is the $50,000 Guaranteed, which takes place on Sundays and comes with a $109 buy-in. Site officials have labeled the tournament as “massively overspread.”
