Nolan Dalla is the Media Director of the World Series of Poker and joins us from the Rio to talk about this year’s Main Event and other happenings at this year’s World Series. He spent his entire summer at The Rio Hotel and Casino covering all events from the 2010 World Series of Poker on the floor, writing updates and tournament recaps for WSOP.com. He also handled media requests and interviews of on-site staff.

In this interview with our own Sean Gibson, Dalla discusses the trends from this year’s events and talks about interfacing with both the major players in the game and some of the great up-and-comers that you’ll be meeting on television on ESPN’s coverage this year. Dalla discusses how older players tend to dominate games other than No Limit Hold’em, such as games like Triple Draw and Stud. He maintains that more than ever, especially this year, that No Limit Hold’em and the Main Event in particular is a young man’s game due to the massive fields and long days spent at the felt. He also talks about Frank Kassela and his amazing run in this year’s World Series by winning two gold bracelets and potentially the Player of the Year award.

Dalla is one of the poker industry’s best known writers and his work on “One of a Kind: The Rise and Fall of Stuey ‘,The Kid’, Ungar, The World’s Greatest Poker Player” is widely regarded as the best biography in the history of poker literature. His playing days go back to when poker was first legalized in Atlantic City and has been known to play stakes ranging from $5-$10 to $10-$20 in both Pot Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha games in Las Vegas and in Atlantic city to this day.
