Welcome to the wonderful world of online poker rooms. If you're a player from the United States, then PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker should be at the forefront of your mind. Not only are they the two largest online poker rooms by player volume, but they also both accept U.S. customers with open arms. PokerStars is considered by many to be the benchmark against which all other sites are measured. Instant Checks, VISA, and MasterCard are considered the top deposit options, with a bank draft and money order also available (albeit slower in funding time). Players outside the United States can use e-wallets such as Neteller and Click2Pay.
Full Tilt Poker invites you to play with the pros: the online poker room boasts the top names in the game such as Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Chris Ferguson, John Juanda, Gus Hansen, and Jennifer Harman, just to name a few. Both Full Tilt and PokerStars offer multi-million dollar events, the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) and PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP).

PartyPoker was once the largest online poker room in the world prior to 2006. Now, it does not accept players from the United States. However, a monthly $1 million guaranteed and a wonderfully easy-to-use software have made it one of the top online poker rooms once again. In fact, it is the second largest site or network that does not accept U.S. players. Ahead of it is iPoker, which is carried by Titan Poker and also includes CD Poker, Mansion Poker, Noble Poker, and Sun Poker. If you're worried about security, don't be: the iPoker Network is owned by Playtech, a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange. PartyPoker is owned by Party Gaming and is traded in London under the symbol PRTY. Also making its home on the popular Exchange is 888, which owns Pacific Poker.
The rapidly growing Cake Poker Network has grown to include not only its flagship site, but also online poker rooms such as Doyle's Room, PlayersOnly, Poker Host, and Red Star Poker. It's one of the top ten networks by volume and growing day by day. The Cake Poker Network accepts players from the United States and uses a system of Gold Cards and Gold Chips as rewards for players. Also accepting U.S. players is Bodog, which boasts notoriously soft cash games and tournament fields.
Bwin, Eurobet, Hollywood Poker, Poker Loco, RedKings, and Stryyke, among others, make their homes on the Ongame Network. Many players are familiar with the software of PokerRoom, which is also on the network. Ongame's realistic 3-D table allows you to compete as one of many colorful characters on the network's online poker rooms. Another massive network that does not accept U.S. players is Microgaming, which includes Eurolinx, Ladbrokes, and Unibet.
Finally, Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker have merged to form CEREUS. The combined player bases of the two online poker rooms make for healthy traffic in the network's cash games. In addition, six-figure guaranteed tournaments on weekends and creative promotions involving the site's spokespeople Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth have made CEREUS a popular destination for U.S. players. Log RAI$E and FAME points and watch your stock rise in rake races and other creative promotions.
