A brand new poker training site launched in recent days. PocketFives Training absorbed what was formerly PokerPwnage and debuted in the last week. PocketFives Training features a stellar lineup of pros and largely focuses on MTT coaching.

Nat Arem, Vice President of Protos Marketing, the parent company of PocketFives, was looking forward to growing the PocketFives Training brand. Arem commented in a press release, “P5s Training is going to offer a great way for P5ers to get access to the minds of some of the best online players and it will be a really valuable addition to the MTT poker training market.”

The site’s roster of pros includes Kevin “1SickDisease” Eyster, whose claims to fame include a win in the Full Tilt Poker $200 Rebuy in November 2009 for $80,000. He has also won the PokerStars Daily Eighty Grand two times, taken down Full Tilt’s Friday Night Fight, and won that site’s $200,000 Guarantee. On the live scene, Eyster owns a win in a €3,000 Heads-Up event held during the European Poker Tour’s Tallinn stop last year.

The PocketFives Training team also features Jon “apestyles” Van Fleet. He’s the co-author of “Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time” Volumes I and II and has been a professional poker player since 2004. He’s the 54th player in the PocketFives Rankings and owns more than $3 million in tracked cashes. Moreover, Van Fleet is a World Championship of Online Poker and Full Tilt Online Poker Series event winner, a double win that few players have been able to accomplish.

Also in the mix is Russell “rdcrsn” Carson. The 25th player in the prestigious PocketFives Rankings, Carson is one of only 18 members of the PocketFives community to record more than $4 million in lifetime online poker earnings. Carson owns three Triple Crowns, an award that requires a person to win three $10,000 prize pool tournaments across three sites tracked for the Rankings within a seven-day span. His high mark in the Rankings was a stint at #2 worldwide.

Finally, we’d be amiss if we didn’t mention Jon “Sketchy1” Eaton. He has over $2 million in tracked online poker cashes to his credit and won the PokerStars Super Tuesday last year for $62,000. His largest cash to date came during last year’s World Series of Poker in a $3,000 No Limit Hold’em Triple Chance event, where he took second place to Ryan “gutshtallin” Welch for nearly $350,000.

Other instructors include Andres “andressoprano” Pereyra, Alex “Assassinato” Fitzgerald, Adrian “chardrian” Dresel-Velasquez, Mike “Gags30” Gagliano, David “Ghettofabolous” Randall, Jerry “herschelw” Watterson, Ben “NeverScaredB” Wilinofsky, Nate “nsinger” Singer, Grayson “the_dean22” Nichols, Zack “Trash370” Koerper, Tom “TitanTom32” Braband, and Tony Guerrera.

On becoming part of PocketFives, Watterson told Poker News Daily, “PocketFives is the largest tournament-focused poker portal online. An incredible reputation, unmatched knowledge of the online tournament poker community, and an unrelenting desire to bring their users the best possible community experience make PocketFives the perfect fit for our training community.”

Monthly memberships to PocketFives Training run $29.95 and come with a $35 sign-up fee. If you’re not sure you’re ready to commit, a two-day free trial is available. Players who pay for six months of poker training can do so for $179.70 and get their sign-up fee waived. Students interested in a year’s worth of PocketFives Training will pay for 11 months and get the 12th free. In addition, the sign-up fee is waived.

According to the same PocketFives Press release, “In addition to the latest releases at PocketFives Training, premium members will also have access to the entire library of what was formerly PokerPwnage. This library includes over 400 videos covering tournament strategy in various stakes and forms of poker.”
