PokerStars awarded over $15.8 million dollars last Sunday in what proved to be one of the greatest online tournaments we have ever seen.

Sunday was the last of the 3 tournaments for the 2010 WCOOP.

Kicking off events was event 60, the $215 No Limit Hold’em event with a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million. With 11,733 entrants the guarantee was blown away by over $800,000 making it a total of $2.346 million. The tournament ran an astounding 19 hours and ended up with a 4-way chop. The winner of event 60, “Blue Knight1” took home $299,699. 2nd place “ureeek” won $169,000, 3rd place “TROBLMAKER” won $209,000 and 4th place “Marwetz” won $165,000. The final table results were:

4th place – Marwetz – $165,000

Event 61, the 8-game High Roller event brought out poker’s elite to compete for what is seen as one of the most prestigious online poker events. 133 entrants spent $10,300 on their buy-in creating a prize pool of $1.33 million. The event paid the top 18 places which were made of some of pokers biggest names. At the final table no deals were made and we had an overall champion, PokerStars Pro Alex Kravchenko winning the tournament and taking home $345,800. Fellow PokerStars pro Jose Ignacio Barbero joined the final table finishing 3rd for $172,900. The final table results were:

1st place – Kravchenko – $345,800

2nd place – kirbynator – $232,750

3rd place – nachobarbero – $172,900

4th place – bigfish302 – $113,050

5th place – PearlJammer – $86,450

6th place – Indiogoae – $59,850.

Other notable finishes were PokerStars Pros Pat Pezzin just missing the final table finishing 7th for $43,225 and Daniel “KidPoker” Negreanu finishing 11th for $28,595. Other popular big names: Andrew “good2cu” Robl came 15th for $17,290 and David “WhooooKidd” Baker came 16th for $17,290.

Wrapping up an amazing WCOOP series was event 62, the main event. 2,443 players took their shot at the $5,200 No Limit Hold’em event for a shot at a 1st prize over $2 million. The event paid 306 spots and the money bubble ended towards the very end of day one. After the first days play there were 271 players continuing into day two.

There was several PokerStars Pros that made it into day two including Jason Mercier finishing 181st, Johannes Strassmann 169th, Bachir “Chiren80” Boumaaza 146th, Chad Brown 71st, Vadim Markushevski 32nd and the deepest run was made by Alexey “LuckyGump” Makarov finishing in 22nd.

The event’s champion “POTTERPOKER”, who had a huge chip lead coming into the final table and managed to keep it the whole time, was the recipient of the record breaking $2,278,097.50 first place prize money and title of 2010 WCOOP Main Event Champion. The final table results were:
