The regular Sunday schedule wasn’t on this weekend, due to the much anticipated 9th annual WCOOP kicking off. PokerStars was full of  professional players online on Sunday.

We saw the first 3 events kick off Sunday:

* $215 6max No Limit Hold’em
* $10,300 High Rollers No Limit Hold’em
* $215 No Limit Hold’em

Event 1:

The guaranteed prize pool of $1.25 million was well exceeded, with 9001 entrants making it just over $1.8 million. A massive 18 hour tournament went to a heads-up chop between “AlexKP” for $257,000 and “Tutanhamon1” for $198,274. The final table results were:

1st place – AlexKP – $257,000

2nd place – Tutanhamon1 – $198,274

3rd place – Stevie444 – $130,514

4th place – ROOJAR_M – $76,508

5th place – inhidonks – $40,504

6th place –Drateks – $27,003

Event 2:

One of the most star-studded events in the WCOOP is the high roller, which brought out Poker’s elite to compete for a prize pool over $3.1 million. If you were railing this event you could open any table and recognize players left, right and center. The guaranteed prize pool was $2 million and we saw over a 50% increase. Almost 16 hours went past until the eventual winner “CrabMaki” was crowned winning a whopping $605,655. PokerStars Team Pro Ville Wahlbeck came as close as possible with 2nd place for $453,850.

Event 3:

Same as the past 2 events, the guaranteed prize pool was surpassed by over 20%, making it just over $2.4 million. The largest field of the 3 events, 12,066 players spent their $215 to take their shot at a first prize of over $350,000. After 19.5 hours we saw another heads-up deal made between the event’s winner “joao bauer” for $316,702 and second place “cmpjo” $260,298. The final table results were:

With just 3 events completed PokerStars has already paid out over $7.7 million with much more to come.
