Poker News

We have an exclusive promotion for readers of Poker News Daily. Just sign up for the independent online poker room Everest Poker through PND and you will be eligible to play in a winner-take-all freeroll on Thursday for a $150,000 Guaranteed seat.

The juicy $150,000 Guaranteed runs every Sunday at 18:00 GMT on Everest Poker and the seat to the event is worth $360. The best part is that the high-stakes Sunday Major has been seeing overlays between $15,000 and $20,000 in recent weeks, meaning that the tournament’s actual prize pool falls short of its guarantee. This means that Everest Poker forks over the difference, resulting in increased value for players.

The exclusive qualifying tournament begins at 19:00 GMT on Thursday, May 6th and can be found in the “Private Tournament” tab of the Everest Poker lobby under the name “Special $150K Entry.” At least five players have to turn out in order for the event to take place (which we’re hopeful won’t be a problem). There’s no password to participate, but your account must be linked to PND in order to qualify. That means you have two days left to sign up for Everest Poker through our site. Who knows? We might be seeing you in this week’s running of the $150,000 Guaranteed!

Everest Poker is in the midst of qualifying players en masse for the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP), which kicks off on May 28th from the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. In a unique twist, Everest Poker is matching the amount its qualifiers take home from WSOP Event #54 or the Main Event with up to $1 million of its own money.

On how the $1 million will be doled out, text found on Everest Poker’s website explains, “The matched prize pool will be distributed proportionally according to which WSOP event each player has qualified for – the higher the buy-in, the bigger the payout.” In essence, all players who qualified for the Main Event through Everest will receive 10 “shares” of the total matched prize pool, while those who landed in Event #54 will take home one “share” out of a total of 11. Qualifiers for the Main Event run on Mondays and Wednesdays, while satellites for Event #54 take place on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. You can also win your way into the preliminary WSOP tournament through ongoing sit and go steps.

As a primarily French-facing online poker site, Everest Poker is also sending its players to stops on the Spanish Poker Tour, the World Poker Tour’s (WPT) Paris event, the Everest Poker European Cup, and the first ever 3 Länder Poker Tour, which can be found in casinos throughout Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. Everest Poker does not accept action from the United States.

Players who have already signed up for Everest Poker through PND are eligible to play in the $150,000 Guaranteed qualifier as well. Everest Poker is a behemoth site, boasting the seventh highest cash game traffic worldwide, with a seven-day running average of 2,100 real money ring game players. During peak hours, which occur in the evening across Europe, 4,500 cash game players can call the room home.

Sign up for Everest Poker today through PND. We’ll see you in the qualifier on Thursday, May 6th at 19:00 GMT.
