The Canadian Poker Tour (CPT) continues to grow and expand and its latest addition is none other than Absolute Poker pro Lacey Jones. The tour recently announced that the model, poker player and media personality is going to be the new face of the CPT.

The move from the Boss Media Network to the iPoker Network is almost complete for the small online poker room King Solomons Poker. The site recently announced that players with accounts on its old Boss Media IPN site will no longer have access to the Boss Media-powered tables as of February 1st.

The outpouring of support to the millions of people affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti continues, as online poker room Mansion Poker is the latest site organizing an event to raise money for the cause.

The tragic earthquake that rocked the island country of Haiti a few days ago has grabbed the attention of the entire world and the poker community is no exception. In the wake of the natural disaster, a number of poker players have reached out to help the millions of people affected by the quake.

In a recent post on his blog, Team PokerStars Pro member Daniel Negreanu outlined eight goals he is aiming to accomplish before the year draws to a close. These range from collecting $1 million in tournament earnings to making big strides in his self-imposed bankroll challenge.

When players who have attended the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in past years cite their favorite moments from the tournament series, at least one story tends to involve the opening night party hosted by the site. This year, PokerStars is aiming to outdo itself by hosting not one, but two seaside shindigs.

The European Poker Tour recently decided to change up the back half of its Season Six schedule and in lieu of the stop in Dortmund will instead be traveling to Berlin. The upcoming event promises to be the biggest poker tournament ever held on German soil and has a guaranteed first place prize of €1 million.

The events aboard Northwest Flight 253 disrupted many people’s holiday celebrations, as the attempted bombing by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab of Nigeria left many wondering just how safe their impending flights home will be. The poker community is also left to wonder just how much their hectic travel schedules will be impacted.

It was a big year for Dream Team Poker. In addition to holding successful events at Caesars Palace and as part of the WSOP festivities, Dream Team ended the year on a high note with a tournament at the Bicycle Casino that awarded its winners a couple thousand dollars and tickets to the 2010 Super Bowl.

World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Russell “Dutch” Boyd may be best known for his career as a professional poker player, but he has also supplemented his income over the years by cyber-speculating, registering a number of poker-related domain names and making money off the traffic that goes to those sites.

Now that the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic is over and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is still a couple of weeks away, the poker community now has a little time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the holiday season.
