Chris Moorman Wins 30th Triple Crown, Extending Record

In the world of online poker, there are few achievements that garner more respect that one that was created by PocketFives.com, the online poker monitor who has compiled statistics on the online game. PocketFives was responsible for the creation of the Triple Crown, an achievement of winning poker tournaments on three different online sites in a seven-day timespan. Most recently, one of the legends of the online game added to his legacy by winning an astonishing 30th Triple Crown award.

Chris Moorman – Online Player Extraordinaire

To say that Moorman is known for his online play would be like saying Katy Perry is pleasing to the eyes. Known as one of the winningest multi-table tournament performers of all time and recipient of the 2018 PocketFives Legacy Award during the Global Poker Awards this year, Moorman hasn’t been slowing down and living off his accolades. In fact, his recent performance has pushed his record-setting performances further out into the stratosphere.

In a recent span of seven days, Moorman – known by his ‘moorman1’ moniker – won three tournaments to capture his 30th Triple Crown award. Winning tournaments on partypoker, America’s Cardroom and PokerStars, Moorman was able to add to his record for most Triple Crown awards in the history of PocketFives (more on this in a moment). He also was able to add onto another record he currently holds, most money won online.

Although the three tournaments that Moorman won were smallish victories – all totaled the events only won the British pro slightly less than $25,000 – they did push his lifetime total further into the stratosphere. With those cashes, Moorman’s record for career earnings online now sit at just under $15,936,453 and change, once again stretching out his own record.

Just How Good are Moorman’s Records?

Moorman’s 30 Triple Crown awards is far and away the leader in that category. His closest competitor is Chile’s Nicolas ‘PokerKaiser’ Fierro, who has 21 Triple Crown awards to his credit. There are only five players who have been able to win double figure Triple Crowns and Moorman and Fierro have a massive lead over the other three. In third place on the all-time list is Hungary’s ‘Belabacsi,’ who has 11 Triple Crowns, with Australia’s ‘aces_up4108’ and the United Kingdom’s Sam ‘TheSquid’ Grafton, tied for fourth with 10 each.

The remainder of the Top Ten reads like a “Who’s Who” of the online poker world. Tied for sixth place on the all-time list of Triple Crown wins are Russia’s Roman ‘MatveychukR’ Matveychuk and Denmark’s Mickey ‘mementmori’ Petersen with nine each, Ireland’s Dara ‘Doke’ O’Kearney (8) in eighth, and Sweden’s Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren and Bulgaria’s ‘alexd2,’ who have seven each. Moorman also rules the roost when it comes to all-time online tournament poker earnings, but it is a bit closer margin than you might think. Moorman’s nearly $16 million in winnings are challenged by a trio of Swedes – ‘lena900’ ($14.87 million), ‘C Darwin2’ ($12.56 million) and Johannes ‘Greenstone25’ Korsar ($12.42 million) – and Canada’s ‘p0cket00’ ($12.27 million), who compose the Top Five in all-time online tournament earnings. As you can see, a look at the record books show that Chris Moorman isn’t facing many challengers to his supremacy and is going to hold onto his perch atop those standings for the foreseeable future!
