WSOP Razz Strategy with CardRunners

This strategy video covers hands played from Razz tournaments played during the WSOP this past season in 2010. Produced by two Razz instructors from CardRunners, ChipsAHoya and Dr Razz, it goes through some key concepts needed for those that play this complicated poker game. Here’s the official CardRunners teaser:

An impressive duo of Dr. Razz and ChipsAHoya collaborate on this engaging video, replayer hands from the WSOP. Razz isn’t easy – but it is frequently about context. Topics discussed include: hand equity, multi-way pots, stack to pot ratios, and checkraising.

Here is some of the discussion from the video’s thread on CardRunners.com:

From Dr Razz: There are quite a few differences between the WSOP event and the $2k guarantee on FTP, but I don’t think the the average player in the WSOP field is necessarily better than those in the nightly 2k. The above average players at the WSOP are quite good tho, and even if they aren’t great they will often read you well enough to make it tough to play against them. If you want to gain a lot of razz tourney experience, the 2k is going to be the fastest way to get there, but the play in the weekly events on full tilt and stars is probably closer to that of the WSOP event, and the FTOPS, WCOOP, and SCOOP events are probably the best practice you’ll find (if your BR will allow).
