Americas Cardroom is a member of the Winning Poker Network.  It is sister site to True Poker.  The network is operated by the same parent company as Bookmaker and Betcris.  This company is held in very high regard in the online gaming industry.

The Americas Cardroom brand was relaunched after DoylesRoom was acquired by the company.  Americas Cardroom originally operated from 2001 to 2007.  Doyle Brunson no longer wanted his name associated with online gaming after Black Friday.

A Personal Opinion of Americas Cardroom

What I like about Americas Cardroom – Americas Cardroom is beyond reproach.  It has a stellar reputation.  Players are paid in a timely manner with one free payout each month.  The software is above average.  The Elite Rewards VIP program offers great returns. Management is transparent and is happy to engage with players.  It offers a $1 million guaranteed tournament a few times a year.

What I don’t like about Americas Cardroom – The cashout fees can be a bit high.  There is not much traffic outside of No Limit Texas Hold’em.

What Players Are Saying About Americas Cardroom

Players at Americas Cardroom have nothing but good things to say about it.  There are no serious complaints.  The cashout speeds and big tournaments are among the more popular topics of conversation.

Depositing and Withdrawing at Americas Cardroom

Americas Cardroom offers several deposit options.  Americans can deposit using Visa, Bitcoin and cash transfer services like Western Union and MoneyGram.  The fee for depositing by cash transfer can be as high as 10 percent of the transaction.  Americas Cardroom will cover these fees on deposits of $300 or more.  Those fees are deposited directly into the player’s account.

Players outside the U.S. have Neteller and Skrill available.  Some regional ewallets are also offered.

U.S. players have a wide range of withdrawal options.  Bitcoin is available in amounts up to $5,000.  These are processed within one day.

Americas Cardroom offers a debit card that may be used at ATM machines and retailers.  There is a $40 fee to receive the card. It costs $4.95 each month to keep the account open and $4.95 for every transfer to the card.  There is also a $3 fee to use it, in addition to what the ATM owner charges.  The maximum withdrawal amount to the Americas Cardroom debit card is $2,500.  Players may only request one debit card withdrawal each week.  These are processed in a couple of days.

Americas Cardroom offers checks in amounts up to $2,995.  These arrive in a week or two.  The fee is $65 but players may receive one free each month.  The additional check that carries a fee is sent by express courier.

Americas Cardroom also offers a cash transfer in a couple of days.  The fees and amounts are:

  • $100 – $299: $60 fee
  • $300 – $499: $70 fee
  • $500 – $749: $85 fee
  • $750 – $999: $95 fee
  • $1,000 – $1,500: $110 fee

There is little reason to use the cash transfer service.  Its fees are high.  The debit card is a much better investment.  Players willing to use Bitcoin will also find that service to be a better deal.

Players outside the U.S. have Neteller and Skrill available.  These are processed in about one day.

Player-to-player transfers are available to everyone.  There is a minimum rake requirement that must be met before requesting a withdrawal when receiving a transfer.  The amount depends on the size of the transfer.

Americas Cardroom Safety

There is no online poker room stronger financially than Americas Cardroom.  It is backed by a massive sportsbook.  Americas Cardroom’s parent company was named in a federal action in May 2011.  The site didn’t miss a beat.  It continued to pay players quickly and it did not affect the business at all.

Americas Cardroom first started in 2001 as a standalone site accompanying the well respected Betcris sportsbook.  It operated on Dobrosoft software.  It is the same platform that it operates on today after some major upgrades.

There was a four-year hiatus for the Americas Cardroom brand.  It was on the Ongame Network when U.S. players were banned in 2007.  The Americas Cardroom brand was no longer relevant since it couldn’t draw U.S. players anymore.  The site closed, paying all of its players in full, and returned in 2011.

Americas Cardroom Promotions

Americas Cardroom offers a first deposit bonus of 100% up to $1,000.  It clears at a rate of 27.5 Award Points for every dollar.  It releases in $1 increments.  Players earn 5.5 Award Points for every $1 in rake paid.  This means that the bonus equals 20% rakeback.  Players have 40 days to clear the bonus.

Americas Cardroom hosts several thousand dollars in tournament guarantees each week.  It runs a $1 million guaranteed tournament several times a year.  This is by far the largest online poker tournament available to Americans.

Elite Benefits is its VIP program.  Players can earn as much as 35% rakeback in the obtainable levels.  Even low volume players can receive a decent return.  The Elite Benefits VIP program uses the dealt rake method, meaning that players do not have to contribute to the pot to receive credit.  This is ideal for serious players.

Americas Cardroom Game Selection

Like most online poker rooms, the most popular game by far is No Limit Texas Hold’em.  Players will find games running from micro limits all the way up to $5/$10 on a regular basis.  Pot Limit Omaha and Pot Limit Omaha High/Low action should be enough for most players that enjoy limits below $1/$2.  There is little action at fixed limit games.

Sit and go players will find ample No Limit Hold’em action up to $100.  There are heads up, six-max and full ring sit and gos.  There are also on demand sit and gos, as well as jackpot ones and turbos.

Multi table tournaments are extremely popular at Americas Cardroom.  The largest is a $50,000 guaranteed tournament on Sundays.  There is also the occasional $1 million guaranteed tournament with a $530 buyin.  All of the major events have satellites that start as low as a dime.
