About PokerNewsDaily
Something worth writing down happens at a poker table every single day. A bad beat that ends a Main Event run three hands from the money. A bracelet that changes somebody’s year. A state legislature vote that decides where you’re allowed to sit down and play next month. Most of it disappears the second it happens, because nobody’s writing it anywhere that lasts. That’s the job here: show up, watch closely, write it down. Because to the person it happened to, it matters.
This isn’t a content operation that noticed poker was profitable and picked up the beat. It’s a poker site run by people who actually play the game. Earl Burton has spent time on both sides of the felt, grinding online like most of you reading this, and cashing in enough live tournaments in Vegas to know what a room feels like, not just what its lobby page says. When he tells you a table’s soft or a series is worth the trip, it’s not a guess.
We’ve also been through this before as a site. What you’re reading right now isn’t the first PokerNewsDaily. Some of the people writing here today, like Dan Katz, wrote for this site when it first launched, moved on to other things, and came back years later. We don’t bury that. It’s most of the point. Eight years in, across more than one era of ownership, this still isn’t a feed that fills up and empties out every day. It’s a record, and it’s outlasted more than one version of itself, which is why it’s still here.
We’re not trying to be the biggest poker site out there. We’re trying to be the one you actually trust, for what happened at the table last night, and whenever you’re ready, for where to sit down and play yourself.

How we make money, and what stays out of it
Some of what we write, specifically poker room and casino reviews, includes affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission. That relationship doesn’t get a vote in what we write. Our news runs completely separate from anything commercial on this site, and our reviews hold the same line either way: we tell you what we’d want to know before we sat down ourselves. Details are in our editorial policy and how we evaluate sites.
