Media Interest in WSOP Tunica Circuit Event Ramps Up

Heading into next Monday’s $5,150 buy-in World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Championship in Tunica, Mississippi, media interest in the event is ramping up. The area was hit hard by winter weather last weekend, but despite Mother Nature, mammoth crowds have turned out.

On hand number 88 of a topsy-turvy heads up match, Joe Cada won a race with a pair of nines to defeat Darvin Moon’s Qd Jd. The board ran out 8c 2c 7s Kh 7c giving Cada two pair, nines and sevens. If Cada had lost the pot, he would have been crippled. With his victory, Cada pockets a cool $8.55 million dollars while Moon takes home the runner-up spot and $5.18 million.
