PokerStars

PokerStars is not only the biggest online poker site in the world but they also have a huge presence in the major live tournaments by qualifying so many players. The EPT, APPT, ANZPT, and LAPT are all sponsored by PokerStars.

PokerStars had many satellites and super satellites to enter the EPT Kyiv and in total they awarded 85 seats and have two Team PokerStars Pros in the large field of players; the names to look for at the tables are Luca Pagano and Alex Kravchenko.

Day 1A started a few hours ago and it did not go well for Luca Pagano, running in to the flopped set of Alex Dovzhenko. Pagano was eliminated but Alex Kravchenko is still in the tournament as the lone representative of Team PokerStars.

The chip lead is currently held by Michael Naltov of Russia, he is one of the many PokerStars qualifiers and his stack is currently at 106,000 chips, 38,000 more than his closest rival, Allan Baekke. Of the top 16 players in the chip counts, ten of them won their seat on PokerStars.

One of the popular names at the EPT Kyiv is John Cernuto; he has won more than $4.6 million is live tournaments and has also cashed 47 times at the WSOP. This past June John participated in the Razz event at the WSOP but he encountered some health problems and had to be taken to the hospital. He is currently sitting in fourth place at EPT Kyiv and looks like he could be putting up a fight for the first place.
