The voting for the second annual CAP Awards is now open. Eight different awards categories and 25 total accolades are up for grabs including Best Affiliate Program and Best Affiliate Manager. Voting is open between now and December. According to the CAP Awards website, the actual awards ceremony is “a jewel-spangled, affiliate grazing-ground full of the top names in the business and from last year’s records, a turn out of at least 500 guests from all corners of the gaming industry.”
Some of the winners from the 2008 CAP Awards, which was the first time that the accolades were given out, included:

The ceremony in which the “Cappies” will be awarded takes place on Thursday, January 29th, 2009 in London, England during the CAP Euro conference. The nominees for the Awards were determined by the members of Casino Affiliate Programs and Poker Affiliate Programs. In addition, an “independent judiciary panel” ensured that “nominations were well-placed and the awards operate a clean and non-biased system.” Nominations ran from April through September.
A statement posted on the Awards’ website gives an overview of the first running of the Cappies from one of its attendees: “I have to say of all the awards out there, this just knocked the spots of them all… the comedian, the food and the magician (well what can you say he was just incredible). Thanks for a great night.”
A series of drop-down menus on the voting site gives access to each of the nominees for the awards. Only one vote is allowed per person and a user name on Casino Affiliate Programs or Poker Affiliate Programs is required in order to voice your choice. The CAP Euro London event takes place from January 29th until February 1st, 2009. Current sponsors of the event include PartyPartners, Partner Logic, Ladbrokes, BetUS, Chipleader, and Everest Poker. The latter was also the on-felt sponsor of the 2008 World Series of Poker, whose Main Event final table will resume from the Penn and Teller Theater at the Rio in Las Vegas on November 9th. The tournament will play down to a winner in the early morning hours of November 11th.
