Sunday marked a busy day on the virtual felts of Full Tilt Poker, as the Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series, or MiniFTOPS, saw its Main Event play down to a champion. The $75 No Limit Hold’em Multy-Entry tournament fielded a total of 45,232 registrations and blew away its $1.25 million guaranteed prize pool. In fact, the actual prize pool of $3.1 million was two-and-a-half times the guarantee.

A two-way deal ended matters in the Main Event that saw KOMIJENDO walk away with the victory and nearly $400,000 in cash. Second place belonged to Demon1531, who banked $361,000 following the heads-up chop. On PocketFives.com, posters discussed the identity of Monaco’s KOMIJENDO, with one member asserting that he was a low-volume Full Tilt Poker player: “For somebody who’s supposedly participated in a grand total of 97 online MTTs, that’s pretty good.”

Third place and a bankroll boost of $209,000 went to manu_litas, who finished one spot outside of the chop in the MiniFTOPS XIX Main Event. Fourth place went to Tschmidt, whose final table appearance was worth $148,000, while luckbox168 certainly did not hold true to his screen name and skillfully finished in fifth place for $104,000.

Sixth place belonged to mar9300, who banked $76,000, and landing just behind him on the leaderboard was CapltAt4. His seventh place showing was worth $57,000 in cash. Rounding out the final nine of the MiniFTOPS Main Event were No_id_4_me and TurtlePower17, who took eighth and ninth places, respectively, for $42,000 and $29,000.

Among those running deep in the MiniFTOPS Main Event yesterday was Nick “fu_15” Maimone, who Tweeted his progress throughout the evening. Upon gaining the chip lead, Maimone chirped, “CL of Mini Main, holding with A-A vs K-K feels quite pleasant.” Two hours later, Maimone still held strong near the top of the field: “9/900 in MiniFTOPS Main Event… Just $450K to winner… Beat 44K ppl, need to beat 1K more.”

After losing four coin flips, Maimone found himself on the short stack when fewer than 50 runners remained. After sitting with the 10th largest stack out of 22 players, he bowed out in 22nd place and was one of several pros to run deep. He has plenty of experience on poker’s biggest stage, having finished 15th in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event for over $630,000.

Also making his presence felt in the MiniFTOPS Main Event on Sunday was Jonathan “FatalError” Aguiar. He got a case of the munchies down the stretch, however, and Tweeted, “Been 1 tabling the MiniFTOPS Main for god knows how long and I just want to go out to eat.” After noshing on dinner from American Fish at the Aria in Las Vegas, Aguiar was nourished and running strong.

With 180 players to go, Aguiar observed, “180 left and an average stack, this is like the sickest 180 man SNG ever.” He ultimately fell by the wayside in 39th place and Tweeted the bad news to his 1,400 followers: “Out 39th K-K vs A-A for 3.5% of the chips in play. Now to sleep and play @wynnpoker Main Event tomorrow. Winning 45K person MTTs is hard.”
