On today’s Daily Deal, Ted Forrest and Mike Matusow make a weighty prop bet, Full Tilt sponsors a Formula 1 team, Party Gaming celebrates a positive quarterly report, and the CEREUS network addresses a serious security flaw.

Hello, I’m Sean Gibson and welcome to the Daily Deal by Poker News Daily, brought to you by PokerSource.com.

Mike “The Mouth” Matusow and Ted Forrest are involved in a weight loss prop bet that could see Matusow lose up to $2 million if Forrest weighs 139 pounds by July 15th. If Forrest doesn’t make it by then, he has until September 15th, at which point Matusow will owe $1 million. If Forrest doesn’t reach the goal by that date, he’ll pay Matusow $150,000. Forrest weighed 188 pounds when the bet was made.

Formula One racing team Virgin Racing announced that it had reached a sponsorship deal with FullTiltPoker.net. The company’s logo will be prominently featured on team’s driving suits, apparel, and cars of Virgin Racing’s two drivers, Germany’s Timo Glock and Brazil’s Lucas di Grassi. No financial details were reported in the announcement, although principal sponsorship of an F1 team goes in the neighborhood of $15 million.

Next, Party Gaming’s quarterly report shows increased revenues, while the CEREUS network discovers a serious security flaw.

Last week brought word that the internet gambling giant Party Gaming had seen its Q1 2010 revenues grow 27% year-over-year to $127.1 million. However, average daily revenue slid 2% from the previous quarter due to strong casino performance in Q4 2009 and foreign exchange setbacks.

A recent article that appeared on PokerTableRatings.com addressed potential encryption issues on the CEREUS Network sites UB.com and Absolute Poker. According to PokerTableRatings.com, hackers could access players’ hole cards because CEREUS’ software employed a custom form of encryption that was XOR-based, whereas major corporations and even government entities use SSL.

PokerTableRatings.com cautioned that unsecured wireless networks presented a “severe” risk. It advised players on UB.com and Absolute Poker to hardwire their computer directly into the modem to avoid using any wireless network. Tokwiro COO Paul Leggett acknowledged the issue and revealed that CEREUS was in the process of rolling out OpenSSL encryption, which should be live within a week.
