Recently, tracking and analysis program Poker Office received a major facelift. After several delays caused by the its interaction with the Windows Vista operating system, Poker Office 5.0 was rolled out, much to the delight of serious players everywhere. It’s one of a handful of programs like it in the marketplace and primarily competes with PokerTracker and Hold’em Manager.
Among the new features that customers of Poker Office 5.0 can take advantage of are a bevy of new statistics, including 3bet percent and 4bet percent. Other useful statistics for online poker players to know about themselves and their opponents include Aggression Frequency, Fold to Continuation Bet percent, Bet Flop percent, and Fold to Flop Bet percent. Other common statistics that Poker Office 5.0 includes are Voluntarily Put Money into the Pot (VPIP), Big Blinds won Per 100 Hands, Folded to Big Blind Steal, Folded to Small Blind Steal, and a slew of Sandbagging stats.
On the additional statistics offered to players, PokerXFactor instructor Chris “Fox” Wallace told Poker News Daily, “Adding in those extra stats is vital. 3bet%, in particular, has become a standard in my HUD and many players have come to rely on it. I see significant improvement in the new version of PokerOffice.”
A brand new overlay is also part of the Poker Office 5.0’s Heads-Up Display (or HUD as it’s known as in the poker software world). HUDs offer a wealth of data on opponents while seated at a table. A press release distributed by the poker tracking software company sums up what users can expect: “By clicking the new buttons in the overlay, you can bring up four popup windows with additional information for each player around the table. The popup windows will appear directly on the poker client. Each popup window has filters so you can filter the data accordingly.”
The first of the four popup windows is used for taking notes on a player. Any notes you jot down will be automatically integrated into the main Poker Office program, so there’s no need to retype them multiple times. Detailed stats will also pop up in a separate window. These can be filtered as well as exchanged for any other stats in the program that players find to be more useful. Another popup window will show the various starting hands opponents have played, while the final will reveal what those starting hands have turned into on the flop. These will both give users a keen understanding of the relative hand strengths of opponents.
Users can also choose to overlay their own stats just for the current session. This is useful to be able to see your own table image. For example, if the stats show the hero to be extremely loose or tight, they can take advantage of this image by changing gears. Rather than having to guess what a person’s table image is, they can review the stats accordingly. The overlay also includes pot odds and “future hand probabilities,” displaying this information on the table. Mucked cards can also be overlain to remind players of what they held without having to review hand histories; however, this feature is not yet available on all sites.
Players will find that the stats engine on Poker Office 5.0 is faster than in previous versions. The press release explains, “It features an advanced caching routine that can cache all data and only needs to access the database for never shown data. Hence, there is no loading time at all for old data.” More tables can also be tracked with Poker Office 5.0. Ten tables can be tracked on PartyPoker, Empire Poker, PokerStars, and the Microgaming Network. Eight tables can be tracked on the iPoker Network, OnGame Network, CryptoLogic Network, and Full Tilt. Check out Poker Office for a complete list of compatible sites and the maximum number of tracked tables on each.
The program runs $99 per year and received an Online Poker Award (OPA) for Best Online Poker Software in 2006 and 2007. The company is headquartered in Malta.
