Before day two started, day 1B had a total of 429 players registered and after nine levels of play the field was reduced to 225 players. Day 1A had a total of 339 players so the grand total is 768 players which helped the total prize pool reach some impressive numbers. The total money gathered in the tournament is €3,686,400 and the top prize is €847,000.

Day 1B was generous with the PokerStars Pros: even though not all survived to see day two, most of those who survived managed to increase their starting chip stacks considerably. Peter Eastgate considers the Deauville event one of the softest tournaments he plays during the year and his words were backed up by his finishing stack of 112K chips. The other PokerStars Pros that started their tournament play on day 1B were: Jude Ainsworth, Alex Kravchenko, Vadim Markushevski, Dario Minieri and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. The players that hit the rail were: Vicky Coren, Joep van den Bijgaart and Greg Raymer.

Day two has brought bad news to some PokerStars Pros, in the first hour of play Vlad Zguba and Praz Bansi hit the rail. Praz had the unfortunate luck of hitting the highest pair on the flop but his opponent hit two pairs on the flop, the turn and river card did not change anything and Praz left the table.

Entering into level twelve on day two Luca Pagano lost the chip lead and the Belgium player Goghan Seref Soysan has taken the lead with 350K chips, Pagano remains as his closest follower. Peter Eastgate is among the top ten places and the field has a good number of pros still.
