Scheduled to attend are J.C. Tran, Nam Le, Steve Sung, and Doyle's son Todd Brunson, who was also just announced as an attendee. Tuesday marked the second day of an important week for the American Gaming Association. The AGA, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C., launched the 11th annual Responsible Gaming Education Week (RGEW), which takes place between now and Friday, August 8th. The goal of the RGEW is to encourage casino "employees to begin a conversation about responsible gaming at home, on the job and in the community," according to a press release distributed by the organization. Sportingbet has come under fire in several countries around the world due to its internet gambling presence. Recently, the attacks came in Turkey, where two employees of the UK-based company have been held in custody for what iGamingNews called "organized crime, money laundering and tax evasion." The company, which is traded on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol "SBT," finished down 1% to ₤31.500 at the end of trading on Monday despite news that one of the two detained employees had been released back to the United Kingdom. Last week, the World Poker Tour announced that it had signed an agreement with cable network Fox Sports Net to broadcast the seventh season of the wildly-popular poker tournament series. The first five seasons aired (and in the case of Seasons II through V, continue to air) on The Travel Channel. Last year, the WPT entered into negotiations with GSN, the Network for Games, to broadcast the sixth season of the show. GSN abruptly elected not to pick up the exclusive option that the network had on the seventh season of WPT programming, which began last weekend with the Bellagio Cup. This left the future of fellow poker show High Stakes Poker in jeopardy. World Poker Association Board of Directors Resigns In an unusual move that occurred just a few weeks into the 2008 World Series of Poker, a number of members of the World Poker Association Board of Directors resigned. The move followed the promotion of former Chairman and Founder Jesse Jones to Chairman Emeritus in the Spring. Now, Jones has returned to his former role as Chairman and poker pro Blair Rodman is the lone remaining Board member. The World Poker Association aims to develop a set of standards as well as a code of conduct for poker players.
