The French government recently changed their taxation policies after to 2% player stakes. Players in the country tried to make their government listen to their ideas and possible solutions in the best interest of both the government and players themselves.

French authorities did listen to the players request and decided to change the taxation plans to only a 2% of the pots. Players in France reacted very well to the news and were happy that their government came to their senses and decided on what would benefit their income as well as poker in their country.

Since now the French government is open to having their population playing poker online, poker rooms around the world are now interested in signing French pros to promote their rooms in their country.

Everest Poker has quickly jumped into action to acquire new players for their Everest team. The first Frenchman signed was Antoine Saout back in the first week of August.  He is a twenty five year old player that decided to drop out of an engineering career to pursue a career at the live and online felts.

But Everest Poker is interested in the French market and because of that they have recently added another French payer to their line-up.  This time around Fabrice Soulier is the pro that reinforces the Everest team.  He has been playing poker for many years now and was named the number one French poker player in ’01 and ’06.  His life tournament earnings exceed $1.5 million and he has cashed over 15 times at the different WSOP events.
