PokerStars

Day 1A brought a larger field of players than last year – just like the tournament organization was expecting.  A total of 307 players entered the tournament and the majority have busted out by now.

The field has gotten tougher and the players remaining have had skill and luck on their side to survive up to this point in the tournament.  One PokerStars pro that had a strong performance on day one was JC Alvarado; he finished his day one among the chip leaders and came back on day two to be eliminated after being left with a short stack and running pocket threes into pocket Jacks.

There are two PokerStars pros still in the field and they are doing quite well, in fact one of them which is the reigning WSOP champion Peter Eastgate, who held the chip lead for a few levels coming into day two.  He is sitting right now at the middle of the field with a decent chip stack.  The other PokerStars pro is Katja Thater, who has had a very strong performance in the entire tournament so far and has managed to stay among the top positions in the chip count.

But not only are the PokerStars pros having an outstanding performance, the PokerStars qualifiers as well as the PokerStars sponsored players are having a remarkable tournament performance too. Some of the players that stand out are Claus Bek Nielsen, Johan Nilsson, Christian Schneider, Andrius Tapinas, Kenneth Danielsen, Imre Leibold and Patrik Kaltrud among others.
