Brazilian player Alexandre “Allingomes” Gomes has had a remarkable performance in the past twenty four months. He has showed that his skills are top notch in live and online tournaments. His first big career prize was the PokerStars Wednesday 150 Grand in February 2008 were he took the 1st place prize for $65K; his biggest cash in 2008 was at the WSOP, were he won the $2000 No Limit Hold’em tournament and took home $770K.

After his big win at the 2008 WSOP Alexandre kept playing live tournaments and has been successful at them. In January 2009 he finished 4th at the EPT PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, where he was awarded $750K. Alexander’s biggest win was at the WPT Bellagio World Cup V, were he took 1st place and $1,187,670. Overall his earnings exceed $2.8 million.

Alexandre was part of the 4,417 players that registered on September 27th for the Sunday warm-up. The prize pool was bumped-up from the original $750K to $883,400 due to the number of players registered for the tournament. After the registration process ended it was calculated that 630 players would leave the tables with extra money in their PokerStars accounts. Gomes had an outstanding run, but unfortunately other PokerStars players had an even better performance and were able to out play the PokerStars pro. Gomes was out in 8th place for $11K.
