Wednesday marked a hectic day of play in the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) High Roller event. Entering Thursday’s eight-handed final table, Germany’s Tobias Reinkemeier leads the way with nearly 1.1 million chips.

Only two women were among the 84 who dared to enter the $25,000 buy-in PCA High-Roller event. The duo turned in quite a showing, as one made the final table and the other finished in ninth place. The latter distinction belonged to former European Poker Tour (EPT) Dortmund winner Sandra Naujoks, one of only two ladies ever to take down an EPT event. Reinkemeier made it 45,000 to go pre-flop and Naujoks pushed all-in for 267,000. Reinkemeier called with pocket jacks and found himself up against A-9. The board ran out 9-K-5-3-5 and that was all she wrote for Naujoks, who earned $57,000.

2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion Joe Cada was ousted on Wednesday at the hands of Naujoks. Cada pushed all-in over the top of a raise by Naujoks and tabled A-8. Naujoks, however, showed A-9 and had the youngster dominated. No help came on any of the five community cards and Cada was sent to the rails in 11th place for $51,000. He won 167 times that amount for taking down the Main Event in November.

Cada edged out fellow WSOP Main Event winner Greg Raymer, who exited from the PCA High Roller event in 13th place. Raymer was all-in with A-7 against Dmitry Stelmak’s K-Q. The former WSOP Main Event champ and member of Team PokerStars Pro was out in front until a king hit on the flop. Raymer signed over an autographed fossil card protector to his adversary and departed, taking home $46,000 for his troubles. Raymer’s stack was crippled earlier in the day when he bluffed on a three-spade board holding pocket sevens, but his opponent held K-8 of the suit for a flush.

Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron, one of the top online poker players in the game, was all-in pre-flop holding 8-9 against Michiel Brummelhuis‘ A-Q. Although Baron held live cards, none of them hit, and he was sent packing in 14th place. The designation of Bubble Boy in the High Roller event went to Dario Minieri, who led the field entering Wednesday’s play. In the Italian’s final stand, he committed his stack of 109,000 with A-Q against Alex Brenes’ pocket nines. The coin flip featured a 6-Q-9 flop, giving Brenes a set.

Here are the chip stacks of the eight final table members of the 2010 PCA High Roller event, playing out from the Atlantis Resort and Casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas:

1. Tobias Reinkemeier (Germany) – 1,072,000
2. Adolfo Vaeza (Uruguay) – 790,000
3. Will Molson (Canada) – 669,000
4. William Reynolds (USA) – 482,000
5. Lisa Hamilton (USA) – 440,000

7. Matt “ADZ124” Marafioti (Canada) – 236,000
8. Dmitry Stelmak (Russia) – 150,000

A total of eight players finished in the money on Wednesday:

9. Sandra Naujoks (Germany) – $56,995
10. Alex Brenes (Costa Rica) – $56,995
11. Joe Cada (USA) – $51,540
12. Carter “bdybldngpkr” Phillips (USA) – $51,540
13. Greg Raymer (USA) – $46,305
14. Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron (USA) – $46,305
15. Shawn Buchanan (USA) – $41,160
16. James Calderaro (USA) – $41,160

Each of the eight players is assured at least a $66,000 payday, with a cool $576,000 prize on the line for the tournament’s champion. Marafioti and Reynolds are the youngest players at the table at 21 years-old, while Vaeza is the elder statesman at 57. Hamilton won the $1,000 buy-in Ladies No Limit Hold’em event during the 2009 WSOP for $195,000 and her first bracelet, defeating a field of 1,060 runners.

The action gets underway at Noon ET on Thursday from the Bahamas and will continue until a winner is crowned. Stay tuned to Poker News Daily for the latest 2010 PCA coverage.
