In March of 2008, the staff of CardRunners, one of the world’s largest poker training sites, became members of Team Full Tilt Poker, joining some of the highest profile players in the world including Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Mike Matusow, and Howard Lederer. In September, the poker training site announced that it had merged with one of its rivals, StoxPoker, which focuses on small- and mid-stakes players. CardRunners is now using each of its recent business arrangements to bring poker players of all stakes Truly Free Poker Training.

For a set number of Full Tilt Points, anyone can earn free one month memberships to either of the poker training sites. If a player accumulates 2,500 points on Full Tilt Poker, he or she is eligible for one month of free StoxPoker training. If a player racks up 4,500 Full Tilt Points, he or she will be eligible for a month’s worth of training on CardRunners, which focuses on higher-end players. Finally, 7,000 Full Tilt Points will mean players can take advantage of one month of free training on both sites.

CardRunners Media Director Ezra Galston told Poker News Daily, “We’re always looking to give something back to our community. Our relationship with Full Tilt Poker made this possible. We approached Full Tilt Poker and said we should try to structure an arrangement whereby if a player is high volume, then we can give them something for free like a CardRunners membership.”

Interested customers should head to TrulyFreePokerTraining.com and input their Full Tilt Poker user name. Everything from that point on is automatic. The CardRunners and StoxPoker dashboards will include a point total for players who sign up, showing the number of Full Tilt Points earned and the number needed in order to reach a free membership. There is no sign-up fee on TrulyFreePokerTraining.com.

The merger of StoxPoker and CardRunners meant that the combined company could cover the full range of the poker spectrum. Lower-limit grinders on StoxPoker could view several high-stakes videos on CardRunners as well as take advantage of discount memberships, and vice versa. Galston explains what made the promotion with Full Tilt possible: “Having a dual membership possibility was an attractive opportunity for Full Tilt because it provides an incentive for players to put in extra hands. This promotion appeals to all stakes of players. Needing only 2,500 points, which is all it takes for a one month StoxPoker membership, is achievable at the lower limits. It’s something that lower level players can easily do.” If a player is on the fence as to whether poker training is valuable, a one week membership to StoxPoker is available for 625 Full Tilt Points.

StoxPoker’s team of poker coaches includes Nick Grudzien, Bryce Paradis, Dusty Schmidt, Kyle Hendon, Ed Miller, Matt Matros, and Jared Tendler. Grudzien is known as “Stoxtrader” online and is the founder of the site. He is also an accomplished Limit and No Limit Hold’em player.

CardRunners’ team of poker pros includes co-founders Taylor “Green Plastic” Caby and Andrew “muddywater” Wiggins. Brian Townsend, Brian Hastings, Mike Schneider, and Cole South are also actively involved with the site. CardRunners recently hired former PokerStars Poker Room Manager and European Poker Tour personality Lee Jones to oversee its customer service and video production departments. The company is based in Chicago, Illinois and regularly charges a $100 sign-up fee.
