Mike “1GOLEAFSGOEH1” Leah took down Event #14 of the UB.com Online Championship, or UBOC, on Saturday. Leah stormed through the field of the $215 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Triple Chance tournament that doled out a short stack to each player. Leah’s victory was worth an even $26,000 and he edged out P0KERCCINI heads-up.

Leah, a Canadian who has amassed over $1 million in earnings from tournaments tracked by PocketFives.com, is two weeks removed from a second place finish in the Full Tilt Poker $750,000 Guaranteed following a two-way chop. Last November, he took down a Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) title and, yesterday, came away with his first ever UBOC victory.

Third place went to noted poker author Jon “PEARLJAMMED” Turner. He’s a co-author of the two-volume book “Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time” and added another $11,000 to his bankroll on Saturday. Turner’s list of tournament victories reads like a “who’s who” of the most prestigious poker contests, including the PokerStars Sunday 500, Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed, PokerStars Super Tuesday, and PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand. His signature score came by final tabling the inaugural PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Main Event for over $500,000 in 2009.

VIKINGLOCO took fourth place in the UBOC Turbo event, while Nicholas Carrillo, who goes by the moniker ROUNDER63 on the USA-friendly site, finished in fifth. Carrillo sits at #177 worldwide in the PocketFives.com Poker Rankings and final tabled a UBOC event back in August for $19,000. In April 2009, he won the Full Tilt Poker $75,000 Guaranteed for $23,000.

The top 27 players in the 261-man UBOC Event #14 field came away with cash in tow. Here’s how the final table shook out:

1. 1GOLEAFSGOEH1 – $26,000
2. P0KERCCINI – $15,500
3. PEARLJAMMED – $11,000
4. VIKINGLOCO – $8,000
5. ROUNDER63 – $6,550
6. DOCTORDOKTOR – $5,500
7. BUNCOE – $4,500
8. CHECKSHOVINU – $3,500
9. TARHEELKID23 – $2,500

Also held on Saturday was Event #13, a $1,050 No Limit Hold’em Heads-Up battle. When registration closed, the field numbered 137 and Joe “JBLAZE20” Chaplin banked nearly $37,000 for the win. The top 32 players landed in the money and Chaplin added to his already stellar poker record that includes wins in the Full Tilt $150,000 Guaranteed, Full Tilt $1K Monday, and UB.com $200,000 Guaranteed. Chaplin calls New York City home and is a Triple Crown winner on PocketFives.com.

Heads-up, Chaplin edged out UB.com player WAMMERMOUTH, who collected a not-so-small $20,000 consolation prize. Others cashing in the UBOC 6 Heads-Up tournament included DoylesRoom Brunson 10 member Amit “AMAK316” Makhija, longtime online poker player Mark “DIPTHRONG” Herm, and Michal “XWYWROTX” Wywrot, who finished 36th in last year’s World Series of Poker Main Event.
