There are some flops that hit your opponents range much better than yours, in which case you can fold enough to make it profitable for them to CBet ATC. Really what you are trying to do is make your opponent indifferent to CB and checking with some hands (since even checking has some EV which is higher than 0). I’ve made a lot of theory videos at this point though, so I try not to get super detailed and repetitive.
When we talk about our hand on our range, I am assuming neither our range or our opponents is much, much stronger. If it is, then everything you said is true we can say “sigh, unlucky flop” and just fold enough so all our opponents CB are very profitable.
I don’t buy the “bet small on dry boards thing” at all. There are times when it’s true, like in 3-bet pots I’m almost always half potting dry boards, but there’s no reason why in raised pots on a dry board you have to bet small. I will agree that I’m more likely to bet big on wet textures, but that usually will happen after my opponent calls me on a wet board (and I think he’d raise a good hand), and doesn’t usually happen on the flop. Here I can kinda already assume he doesn’t have a “great” hand since 6x is so rare in his range, and while I’m not sure exactly what fraction of his range or my range is 6x or better that’s going to be a big factor in deciding how much we bet on the flop.
