PokerStars often runs Spin & Go promotions in conjunction with popular sporting events, so naturally, the World Cup is no exception. On Thursday, the same day the World Cup began, PokerStars kicked off (pun sort of intended) its SpinGoal promo, giving players a chance to win additional cash prizes by playing Spin & Go’s like they normally do.

As with many PokerStars promos, players must first opt in via the Challenges Window to receive their SpinGoal Puzzle, which looks like a soccer pitch with the Starting 11, 5 Subs, 10 Squad Players, and the coach all represented by their numbered shirts.

After that, players can start participating in “eligible” Spin & Go tournaments. Said tournaments include 3-handed Spin & Go Hold’em at the $0.50, $1, $2, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, and $1,000 buy-in levels, and Spin & Go Omaha at $1, $2, $5, $10, and $25 buy-ins.

Before the Spin & Go begins, a squad number will appear underneath the spinner. If that number matches a missing roster slot on your SpinGoal Puzzle, that squad member piece will be collected.

If you fill out your entire Starting 11, you win a cash prize equal to your average SpinGoal buy-in. Same for completing the 5 Subs or 10 Squad Players. Grab the coach and you get twice your average buy-in, and if you fill in all 27 spots on the squad, you also get two times your average buy-in.

Winning a Sit & Go has nothing to do with collecting squad numbers – participation in the Sit & Go is the only requirement.

Which squad numbers might be drawn depends on the multiplier that is hit on the Spin & Go spinner. For example, if the tournament’s prize multiplier is 2x, the squad numbers 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17 have a chance to appear, all with equal probability.

There are separate number groups for the 3x, 4x, and 5x+ multipliers, all with equal probability within those groups, so obviously some squad numbers are going be more difficult to collect.

Winning prizes in SpinGoal entirely comes down to luck, but if you play Spin & Go’s, anyway, there is no reason not to opt in to the promotion and have a shot at winning a few extra bucks.

The SpinGoal promotion runs through July 9.
