Players who have the unfortunate luck of losing with four eights or better at the Absolute Poker Bad Beat tables are rewarded with a bad beat jackpot. The tables have become very popular and hundreds of players have enjoyed the benefits of playing at these tables. A total of 28,743 players have shared over $43 million from the jackpot. Just in 2009 the jackpot has awarded nearly $12 million.

Players who participate in the bad beat tables contribute to the jackpot with fifty cents from qualified hands only. When a player his the jackpot 65% of the prize pool will be divided among the loser, in this case the winner of the jackpot, and the players that participated in the hand will also get a share of the money. Players sitting at any jackpot table with the same limit and same type of game will also receive a percentage of the money.

As the jackpot increases the payouts tend to grow as well. If the jackpot was $600K the winner of it would get $195K, the winner of the hand would receive $97K, and each player sitting at the table would receive $1K. An additional $97K would be distributed among players that where sitting at a Jackpot table with the same limit and game type.
