Amit “AMAK316” Makhija is one of the best online and live tournament pros in the business. He has final tabled the 2008 World Series of Poker $10,000 Pot Limit Holdem event and made well over $1.5 million in just live tournament winnings alone.
According to PocketFives, his most recent online scores include $138,300 in the FTOPS Event #12, $19,137 for the $22k Guarantee and $20,869 at a $100k Guarantee on PokerStars. Makhija recently gained sponsorship at Doyle’s Room and became part of the prestigious “Brunson 10” of young guns.
We caught up with Makhija at the WPT Championship at the Bellagio shortly after he busted out. He talked about his upcoming tournament schedule, where he likes to play poker and which specific WSOP tournament he’s aiming to take down in 2010.
