The New Jersey Casino Control Commission released revenue figures for the state for December of 2008 as well as full year to date numbers. The result: casino revenues plummeted by 7.6% in 2008 and 18.7% in December of 2008 in comparison to December of 2007. Still, casino win was $4.5 billion during the 2008 calendar year. Read more »
On Monday night, the second season of Ultimate Bet's "Best Damn Poker Show" debuted on Fox Sports Net with the first of seven new one-hour episodes. Season 2 began with 24 poker hopefuls vying for a spot on one of two teams and 60 minutes later, only 22 remained. Read more »
The Nevada Gaming Control Board recently released its report on gambling "win" for November of 2008. The final numbers, which are released two months after the time period in question, show a state-wide decrease in gambling revenue of 14.80% year over year, marking the 11th straight month of declining revenues.
