A $320 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Ante from the Start event (#24) was the highlight of Wednesday’s action in the sixth UB.com Online Championship, or UBOC. A two-way chop ended matters and BKQZBXT walked away with $34,000 in cash for the win.
HAMAZRIYA3 served as his chopping partner and second place was worth $28,000. When the deal was struck, BKQZBXT held a 3:2 chip lead over his opponent. On the final hand of the Deep Stack event, HAMAZRIYA3 was all-in with 10-9 on a flop of 10-9-2 for top two pair. However, in a bit of a cooler, BKQZBXT tabled pocket tens for a set. The only cards that would save HAMAZRIYA3 were running nines, which failed to come when the turn and river were both aces. Just like that, UBOC Event #24 came to a close.
BKQZBXT is known in the online poker arena as wandigo and goes by Ken Coppens in the “real world.” He’s the author of the Weekday Tournament Review on the popular online poker forum PocketFives.com and seems to be hitting his stride. In December, Coppens final tabled a Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) event for $50,000 and took fifth in UBOC 6 Event #15 four days ago for another $14,000.
Third place in Event #24 went to Vanessa “PRINCESSDONK” Peng, who walked away with $16,000. Peng sits at #240 worldwide in the PocketFives.com Online Poker Rankings and has over $1 million in cashes tracked by the site. Last May was a lucrative month for Peng, who won the PokerStars $100 Cubed for $42,000 and finished as the runner-up in the weekly UB.com $200,000 Guaranteed for $28,000. Peng hails from Las Vegas and is also a former winner of the Full Tilt Poker Friday Night Fight.
Fourth place went to Hungary’s DEADHORSE86, who boosted the GDP of his home nation by $11,000. He is one month removed from taking down the challenging PokerStars Sunday 500 for $92,000. Last September, DEADHORSE86 took second in the PokerStars $200 Rebuy for $34,000 and is on the verge of cracking the top 100 in the PocketFives.com Rankings. The tournament comes with a $75,000 guaranteed prize pool and each model will have a $200 bounty on their heads. Among those who will be in the field is former Playboy Playmate Shanna “SHANNAXOXO” Moakler, who is the host of “Bridalplasty” on the E! Network.
