In April, Cake Poker is bringing back two popular promotions and continuing its World Series of Poker (WSOP) satellites. Starting this month, players can earn double Gold Cards with the Turbo Gold Cards promotion and earn cash and prizes by redeeming their Gold Cards with the Match and Win promo.

Running from April 1 through the end of the month, Turbo Gold Cards will hit cash games twice as often between 6:00am and 8:00am, 2:00pm and 4:00pm, and 8:00pm and 10:00pm GMT. Cards can be redeemed for cash or prizes such as an Apple iPad, a 50″ television, or even a DUCATI Superbike.

Gold Cards can also be exchanged as part of the Match and Win promotion. During April, players can return the Gold Cards they earn for cash, tournament tickets, and Gold Chips by matching their cards to the Match and Win game board located in the Rewards section of the Cake Poker client. If a player matches a combination of Gold Cards displayed on the game board, he or she wins that prize instantly. Once the end of the month hits, the game board prizes are no longer valid.

Both of these promotions are built around Cake Poker’s Gold Card Rewards Program where ring game players earn randomly released Gold Cards as they play. Players can collect these cards until they choose to redeem them in one of Cake Poker’s daily Gold Card tournaments or sell them for cash at the Exchange, a player-to-player marketplace.

Cake Poker is also bringing back its qualifiers for this year’s WSOP in Las Vegas. The world’s largest poker series will feature 58 events, including the $10,000 Main Event beginning on July 7 and running through July 19. Last year’s champion, Jonathan Duhamel, collected nearly $9 million for his Main Event title while stamping his name in poker history as a world champion.

Players at Cake Poker can qualify for the Main Event in a series of multi-table tournaments with a final qualifier that awards the winner a $13,000 prize package that includes the tournament’s buy-in as well as travel accommodations and spending money. The multi-table qualifiers can be found throughout the week, with super satellites running hourly, semi-final qualifiers running daily, and the $490 buy-in final qualifier running every Sunday at 4:00pm ET.

For those aiming a little smaller, $2,500 Vegas Spree prize packages are also up for grabs through daily sit and go step tournaments. Players can win as many of each of these packages as they want and then use the cash however they wish, whether it be dining at four-star Las Vegas restaurants or buying into smaller WSOP events. Vegas Spree qualifiers are running daily; step qualifiers range from a $2 Step 1 Ticket to an $873.33 Vegas Spree Final Ticket.

The last chance to win a Main Event package will be Sunday, June 19.

In other Cake news, PokerListings reportedly purchased the Cake Poker Network in a move that created a buzz within the poker industry. The network, currently ranked 27th in PokerScout.com’s Online Traffic Rankings, features its own online poker room as well as Victory Poker, Unabomber Poker, and several others. The network also welcomed the Poker Pros Network last month.
