EPT Prague is coming up in a week, but if there was any sort of celebration of last year’s winner planned, it looks like those plans will have to be nixed. On Tuesday, the Halton (Ontario) Regional Police announced that 2022 EPT Prague Main Event champ Jordan Saccucci is one of four men wanted in connection to a series of residential break-ins in Halton, metropolitan Toronto, and Southern Ontario.
In addition to the 33-year-old Saccucci, the other three men have been identified as Marcel Blackburn (37), Paul Nkrumah (36), and Dumark Lindsay (41).
Police executed search warrants on the suspects’ homes on November 21 and recovered a number of items thought to have been stolen from the targeted residences. None of the suspects was home at the time. Police believe the four men known they are wanted and also believe that they are responsible for break-ins on November 22 and 23.
Based on reports from local residents police advise that the suspects may approach people’s front doors in broad daylight, their faces covered with surgical masks or other face coverings, and may wear hoods and gloves. Fortunately, it sounds like their only goal is burglary and they avoid violence, as the police say that if they are confronted by homeowners (who they did not expect to be home), they make up an excuse like they are involved in landscaping before quickly leaving.
That said, the public should not approach any of the four men and instead call the police. The Halton Regional Police have advised the four suspects to turn themselves in.
Jordan Saccucci defeated French poker pro and third place finisher in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event Antoine Saout heads-up to take the 2022 EPT Prague Main Event. After a deal with Saout, Saccucci walked away with €913,250, or about $1 million. All told, he has won $1.37 million in his live tournament career.
None of Saccucci’s other live cashes come close to EPT Prague (as is evident by his total earnings), but some other deep runs include a ninth place finish at WPT Fallsview in 2016 and a 14th place finish at WPT Playground in 2017.
