The Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker IV (LEOCOP IV) held the fourth tournament on its docket on Wednesday, which was a $22 buy-in Beat the Team event with $10,000 added. Essentially a bounty tournament, the goal was to knock out Ladbrokes-sponsored pros in the field in order to capture a rich prize placed on each person’s head.

The Beat the Team tournament attracted the largest number of players to a LEOCOP event in 2008. Each pro ousted from the tournament carried a bounty which increased in value throughout the tournament. Here is a look at who captured the bounties of some of the world’s top poker stars:

First pro knocked out for $200: skalie (Jon Kalmar) by PUSH73
Second pro knocked out for $300: ROYTHEBOY (Roy Brindley) by princessaces
Third pro knocked out for $400: JaffaCake (Jeff Kimber) by Maddie84
Fourth pro knocked out for $500: U_Can_Try (Pasi Heinanen) by Murphtech
Fifth pro knocked out for $650: Nebuchad (Jonas Danielsson) by eliman
Sixth pro knocked out for $800: MGR-EDWARD (Edward Ihre) by stevied
Seventh pro knocked out for $900: _Theah_ (Andreas Hoivold) by Sinbad01
Eighth pro knocked out for $1,250: Darth Maple (John Part) by brimolko
Ninth pro knocked out for $2,000: Pokergirl1 (Morten Erlandsen) by HectorMcG
Tenth pro knocked out for $3,000: Jaws180 (Colin Lloyd) by Acid

When the smoke cleared at the Beat the Team final table, eliman, who had already collected a $650 bounty for knocking off Jonas Danielsson, took down the event for an additional $6,710. He defeated GreenMan1 heads-up; the runner up collected $4,294 for his efforts. Other Ladbrokes members who made the top ten in the Beat the Team contest included lurvelegg (third place for $2,818), brim olko (fourth place for $2,013), Acid (fifth place for $1,476), Razork 8 (sixth place for $1,207), PYTUPEPOE (seventh place for $939), Plym legend (eighth place for $671), 1875 (ninth place for $469), and laddog (tenth place for $335).

Edward Ihre, MD of Ladbrokes Poker and one of the bounties up for grabs, commented in a press release distributed on Thursday, “The Beat the team event has been the most heavily subscribed of the festival so far, but we knew it would be popular. We all had a laugh and some good banter on the tables and the event epitomized what Ladbrokes Poker is about, online poker and community.”

On tap for Thursday is a $220 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Second Chance Plus event. In it, each player will be given 2,000 starting chips and blinds will begin at 10-20. Each level lasts 20 minutes. In addition, all players receive a time bank of 120 seconds with a clock of 30 seconds. I would expect a talented field to show up given the size of the buy-in relative to other LEOCOP events.

The tournament series on Ladbrokes concludes with a $1,100 buy-in deep-stack Main Event, which will occur on Sunday, November 9th. Each player receives 10,000 chips and blinds begin at 10-20, increasing every half hour.

The invite-only LEOCOP Masters begins 13 days after the Main Event. The top 80 players on the LEOCOP leader board will automatically be entered to the Masters event. A person’s standing is determined by total money won throughout the course of the tournament series and the top ten will take home their share of $14,000.
