Cutting edge online poker site PKR.com, famous for its top-quality animated 3D graphics and for recently hitting the 2 million player mark, has just announced its first forage into live poker territory: PKR Live, a 3-day poker festival to be played out in PKR’s home city of London.
The tourney, accessible via invitation or satellite only, will see 150 of PKR’s best and most loyal customers battle it out for almost $100,000 in prize money. PKR is giving out up to 150 $1,000 packages that include travel, accommodation and buy-ins for all the events in the festival; these packages can be won through the many satellites already running on PKR.com with buy-ins as low as $2.38.
The exclusive 3-day festival will run from November 14-16 and will consist of these events:
- Day 1 will see a $60 buy-in PKR Welcome Tournament, which according to PKR will “warm players up for the following day.”
- The Main Event will start on Day 2 and continue into Day 3. It will consist of a $500 freezeout tourney with a maximum of 150 players. $20,000 (out of a guaranteed $75,000 prize pool) are going to the winner.
- Day 3 will see the end of the Main Event as well as a $10,000 Bounty freeroll for those who didn’t make it past Day 1.
- Besides the three tournaments there will also be STTs and cash games for those who want extra action.
PKR Live will be held at the Loose Cannon Club, a members club in Central London. The Loose Cannon has fine dining and a capacious bar, as well as facilities for playing poker, backgammon and other games.

Satellites are already running at PKR, starting as low as $2.38 for the first level. There are also direct-entry satellites for $25 and $100 which award packages into PKR live. The top five players in PKR.com’s Leaderboard will receive courtesy packages, and 10 more seats will be awarded through freerolls.
