‘Tis the season for sharing and in that spirit, two of the most followed tournament tracking sites on the internet have formed a partnership that will help bring the poker community all the tourney information it can handle. PocketFives.com announced today that it and TheHendonMob.com have agreed to share information with one another creating what will essentially be the most comprehensive poker database on the web.

PocketFives is the preeminent source on the internet for online poker tournament results. It is perhaps best known for its worldwide tournament rankings; reaching the upper echelons of the list is one of the most prestigious accomplishments in the poker world. PocketFives is also home to one of the internet’s most popular poker message boards.

In an article on PocketFives, site co-founder Cal Spears said, “These days, a lot of online poker players are heavily accomplished in the live poker world and vice-versa, so it makes sense for information about both to be linked. In the early days of PocketFives, it was two separate worlds: there were live players and there were online players, and neither was a big fan of the other. Now, with the two worlds intermingled, we’re very excited to be working with GPI and Hendon Mob to make the complete picture of player results more accessible.”

TheHendonMob.com, as Spears mentioned, is the web’s most respected resource for live tournament results, updated after every day’s action. The site was recently acquired by the Global Poker Index (GPI), which ranks players in a similar manner to PocketFives, only for live poker, rather than online. In the aforementioned PocketFives article, GPI CEO Alex Dreyfus said, “I’m excited that the leading rankings companies are building a relationship that will help expose poker players globally and locally, both online and offline. Our common goal is to promote poker, and offering these results to our respective audiences will be a huge advantage for the future. This exclusive agreement will definitively help each company be stronger and bring more innovation into poker.”

Both sites are the go-to resources for us here at Poker News Daily when researching tournament results and statistics.

Now, visitors to player profiles on each site will be shown ranking information for the other and will be provided links to the respective profiles.

This is a partnership that makes complete sense in this age of poker. While each site is excellent on its own, there is now so much overlap in the live and online poker worlds that it is interesting to be able to see in one shot who is at the top of the game in both venues.
