The fifth tournament scheduled in the Asia Pacific Poker Tour will lead players to Sydney Australia and the Star City Casino where some the best poker players in the world will surely show up to play. Many PokerStars qualifiers and pros have already arrived, including Joe Hachem, Lee “Final Table” Nelson, Emad Tahtouh, Grant Levy, Eric Assadourian and Tony Hachem.

It looks like the first level of the tournament has favored Lee “Final Table” Nelson as he got involved in a hand and put all his chips at stake after seeing a board that ran 8-6-2-Q-2. Lee showed pocket eights and his opponents pocket sixes. It was an early doble-up for Lee, who is off to a running start in Sydney.

Australia’s youngest poker star Julian Powell is off to a rough start in the tournament after losing a big hand to Phillip Kober. The board brought Ad-Kh-Qd-Jd-9c and Kober showed Kd-10d for a royal flush. Powell saw the royal flush and quickly mucked his cards in disbelief.

A tournament that is also taking place in Australia is the High Roller tourney at the Star City Casino. The AUS $15,300 buy-in event caught the attention of twenty six players, including Jeff Lisandro, David Steicke, Daniel Neilson, Jarred Graham, Billy Seri, Jay Kinkade, Bill Jordanou and Sean Keaton.
