The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2020) is currently underway, capturing the attention of much of the sports world. As one might expect if you have played on or followed PokerStars over the years, the poker room has launched a promotion to celebrate the occasion. As it has done in past years in conjunction with a major international soccer championship, PokerStars has introduced its Spin & Goal tables. This year, they have even more of a soccer link beyond the name, as PokerStars just so happens to have Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr as an ambassador, so welcome to the Neymar Jr Spin & Goal.

Running through August 1, the Neymar Jr Spin & Goals are essentially the same as regular PokerStars Spin & Gos except there is one that costs just $5 with a maximum first place prize of $1 million.

Overall, there are eight different possible prize pools: $10, $15, $25, $50, $125, $600, $1,200, and $1.2 million.

The bottom three prize pool tiers are by far the most common, with more than a 99% chance to hit one of them. They are also all winner-take-all.

At the $50 prize pool level, both the first and second place finishers win money ($40 to first, $10 to second). Starting at $125, all three players get a piece of the pie. So while the winner gets by far the most money, that should calm the nerves at least a little bit.

If three players get extremely lucky and hit the one in 10 million spin for the $1.2 million prize pool, the winner will receive $1 million, while the other two players will get $100,000 a piece. I’m actually not sure how nervous I would be in this situation. On the one hand, I’d feel really content knowing I’m about to receive at least $100,000, but that $900,000 difference between first and second is life changing.

For those who would rather not pay anything to get into a $5 Neymar Jr Spin & Goal, PokerStars is offering weekly freerolls every Sunday at 14:00 ET. Every freeroll awards $5 Spin & Goal tickets.

There are other Neymar Jr Spin & Goals at the $1, $2, $10, $25, $50, $100, and $250 buy-in levels. The $100 and $250 versions also have a top first prize of $1 million, but that’s the normal prize structure for those buy-ins in regular Spin & Gos. The $5 Neymar Jr Spin & Goal is the draw here.
