On the heels of a $190K sixth place finish in the European Poker Tour Grand Final High Roller event, Team Titan pro Sorel Mizzi was at it again in Paris. On May 14th, Mizzi nabbed second in the World Poker Tour Rendez-Vous a Paris for $159K.

25 players ponied up the 20K Euro buy-in and, after two days of play, only Mizzi and veteran pro Freddy Deeb remained. Early on in the match, the players got all the money in the middle with Sorel’s AK dominating Freddy’s AQ. Unfortunately for Titan Poker’s team captain, the Qd came on the flop and when he failed to improve, the tournament was all but over. A few hands later, Deeb claimed the victory and 290K Euro. Mizzi settled for second place and 120K Euro.

In other news, the Titan Poker team descended on Barcelona for the WPT tournament that kicked off today. Mizzi and fellow Titan representative Joel Benzinou are seated at the same starting table, along with four other French players. This comes as no surprise as Barcelona is teeming with French restaurants and generally attracts many French visitors. The pair arrived late to the table – they grabbed a quick lunch first – and Mizzi immediately summoned a masseuse and has been under her spell ever since. Maybe Bezinou should invest in a massage since he’s already dropped half his stack.

Meanwhile, Marvin Rattenmaier is up to 22K and Yann Brosolo is sitting on 23K after the following hand:

Laurent Leclerc raised preflop and Yann re-raised with AsKs. Leclerc flatted and the flop came Ah Kh 8d. Leclerc checked-called Yann’s 1.5K bet and the turn dropped the Ad. Lerclerc once again check-called, this time 3K. When the 10s fell on the river, Laurent simply check-folded to Brosolo’s shove.
