Titan Poker’s third European Championship of Online Poker has started, with its largest guaranteed prize pool to date: $4,150,000. The kick off event had 1,420 players vying for the guaranteed $250,000 prize.
Less than two years after the inaugural ECOOP, Titan Poker players are showing no signs of slowing down, with ever increasing guaranteed prizes and player fields. This year’s inaugural ECOOP event – a $215 NL Hold’em tourney – attracted 1,420 players which created a prize pool of $284,000, well over the $250,000 guarantee. Player IamBetterThanU came out on top and scored a $59,640 prize and an ECOOP bracelet. Events 2 and 3 have also exceeded expectations: Event 2 ($215 Limit Hold’em) awarded $6,600 over the guaranteed $100,000 prize pool, with player PUPAA taking home $24,518 and a bracelet; while event 3 more than doubled its $10,000 guarantee to create a $221,900 prize pool, $46,599 of which went to winner miffy444 along with yet another ECOOP III bracelet.
The ECOOP bracelets were designed and made by jewelry designer Oded Kashi; all 15 bracelets are made of 18 carat gold, and the extravagant Main Event bracelet will also have 69 precious stones including 33 rubies, 20 black diamonds and 16 white diamonds.
The largest ECOOP to date will last for 14 days, and it will feature tournaments in Limit and No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo and Limit 7-Card Stud; buy-ins range between $109 and $2,600 and there are satellites running at Titan Poker for all the remaining events.

Titan Poker is one of the most popular poker rooms in Europe, and part of the recently expanding iPoker Network. According to their site, Titan Poker guarantees more than $16,000,000 in monthly prizes and it has nearly 30,000 online players at peak hours.
The first ECOOP took place in December 2007, and it was a relatively modest affair: it spanned only 10 days and had a combined guaranteed prize pool of $2,500,000. ECOOP II was played in May 2008, again over the course of 10 days, and the guaranteed prize pool increased to $3,600,000. ECOOP III is the largest to date with 5 more days of play and over half a million dollars more into the prize pools.
ECOOP III has been running since November 24, and it will feature an event every day until December 7, when the final $1060 No Limit Hold’em Main Event will be played for a guaranteed $1,500,000 in prizes.
