The fifth event of the ongoing UB.com Online Championship, or UBOC, ended in a heads-up chop between FINEIRISHLAD and PDI88. The $215 No Limit Hold’em Rock Star Bounty, which featured UB.com pro and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian as its host, drew a field of 615 players to create a prize pool passing $120,000.

An equity chop was originally discussed that would have given FINEIRISHLAD $21,674 and PDI88 $23,373. FINEIRISHLAD agreed to the deal when UB.com officials asked, but PDI88 requested to receive an even $24,000, or $627 more than the chip chop would have awarded. Rather than fume over $600, FINEIRISHLAD agreed to the adjusted numbers and the two played on for the UBOC bracelet and an extra $2,000.

On the final hand of the tournament, FINEIRISHLAD put in a raise to 72,000 pre-flop and PDI88 came along to see a flop of 6-4-7 with two hearts. Both players checked and the turn was the 10 of hearts. FINEIRISHLAD led out for 72,000 and PDI88 came over the top all-in for another 500,000. FINEIRISHLAD called and the river put a second 10 on board.

FINEIRISHLAD showed 10-9 for trip 10s, while PDI88 showed a lowly J-9 for a busted straight draw. FINEIRISHLAD hails from Michigan, while PDI88 is from nearby Illinois. The latter is a two-time Triple Crown winner on PocketFives.com, an award that requires a player to take down three $10,000 prize pool tournaments across three sites tracked for its Rankings within a seven-day period. Impressively, PDI88 once won the UB.com $30 Rebuy five times in a two-month span.

“The Showdown” host and UB.com pro Jon Friedberg took 32nd in the event and walked away with $553 in prize money. You can catch new episodes of “The Showdown” every Tuesday right here on Poker News Daily. Episode 1 featured former “Survivor: China” castaway Jean-Robert Bellande and Episode 2 welcomed six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Layne Flack.

Other players who were among the tournament’s 64 in the money finishers included Dave “doubledave22” D’Alesandro, Eric “sheetsworld” Haber, UB.com pro Mark “P0ker H0” Kroon, and Ryan “ryanbluf” Karp, who is the 19th player on the PocketFives.com Rankings.
