It may be World Series of Poker time, but that is not stopping the World Poker Tour from grabbing some headlines. The WPT has announced a portion of the schedule for Season XVIII, a slate of thirteen events that it calls the “backbone” of the 2019-2020 season. Five of the events include delayed final tables to be played out at the Luxor’s HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas.

World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska had a lot to say in a press release:

As the World Poker Tour nears the end of a record-breaking Season XVII, the WPT is proud to present our players and fans exciting events to look forward to in Season XVIII, including the return to HyperX Esports Arena for TV final tables. Season XVII was ground-breaking for the World Poker Tour. With WPT events held for the first time in Russia, Vietnam, and New Zealand, we continued to set records across the globe. The WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open and WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic drew record-setting fields. Erkut Yilmaz won two WPT titles on his way to winning the Hublot WPT Player of the Year award. As always, the best is yet to come, and we are thrilled to begin preparing for another season of premier global poker events.

The season will begin just as the World Series of Poker ends, with the WPT Gardens Poker Festival running July 20th through July 25th at the Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, California. One cool bonus: the winner of the event will also get a BMW X1.

From August 31st through September 4th, it is one of the mainstays of the World Poker Tour, the WPT Legends of Poker and the Bicycle Casino. After that, it’s two east coast events, the WPT Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City from September 15th through September 20th and then WPT Maryland at Live! Casino from September 28th through October 2nd.

Poker players from across the pond can save a bit of travel money, as WPT UK at Dusk Till Dawn will be held at the same time as WPT Maryland, from September 30th through October 6th.

Back in North America, the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble, WPT Montreal, the WPT Seminole Rock & Roll Poker Open, and the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio round out 2019.

After the new year, it is the WPT Gardens Poker Championship in mid-January, again at The Gardens Casino, as well as WPT Russia in Sochi from January 20th through January 26th. To end January in the States is the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open from January 26th to January 30th. February sees a familiar venue in King’s Casino, where WPT Germany (despite it not being in Germany) will be held from the 17th to the 23rd.

It’s then over to California for two: WPT L.A. Poker Classic February 29th to March 4th and WPT Rolling Thunder a few days later. Criss-crossing the continent, it’s back to Florida for the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown April 30th to May 5th and then WPT Choctaw in mid-May.

WPT Gardens Poker Championship, WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open, WPT L.A. Poker Classic, WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, and WPT Choctaw will all have their final tables at the HyperX Esports Arena.
