The World Poker Tour (WPT) announced the schedule for its television broadcasts yesterday, as episodes of Season XIV will kick off on Fox Sports Network (FSN) on Sunday, February 28th. Episodes will air at 8:00pm ET and will be replayed throughout the week on FSN and FS2.
A total of nine World Poker Tour stops will be broadcast, each split up into three episodes. Starting things off will be the inaugural WPT Choctaw from the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, with episodes on February 28th, March 6, and March 13th.
Most of the events that are on the television schedule have already finished. Still remaining to be filmed are the WPT L.A. Poker Classic, WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star, and the WPT Tournament of Champions.
The inimitable duo of Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten will be back once again as the on-air commentators, joined by Lynn Gilmartin in her third season as anchor and Tony Dunst in his sixth season as the host of “Raw Deal.”
WPT President and CEO Adam Pliska expressed his excitement for the upcoming televised season, saying in a press release, “Thanks to our award-winning production team, World Poker Tour programming continues to evolve and improve during Season XIV. Our viewers have responded very positively to our changes in recent seasons, resulting in our top ranking on FOX Sports Networks, and we will continue to enhance our show to deliver the best in gaming entertainment.”
