In March, DoylesRoom will once again offer its popular Race to the Top promotion, with a new twist added to include more players.
The Race to the Top promotion is based on players earning points for hitting up the cash tables at DoylesRoom. $65,000 will be divided among the top 350 players on the leaderboard. For the month of March, not only will cash game players earn points, but also those who take to the felt in guaranteed tournaments.
For players who step up in any of DoylesRoom’s guaranteed weekly tournaments under $1,000, a player will earn five points towards the Race to the Top promotion. If a player participates in a weekly guaranteed event between $1,000 and $2,000, they will earn ten points for the race. Of course, as players step up to the higher guaranteed events, the Race points they’ll earn will increase as well.
For the two weekly guaranteed events on Sundays that offer a $7,500 and $15,000 guaranteed prize pools, players will pick up either 100 points (for the $7,500 Guaranteed) or 200 points (for the $15,000 Guaranteed) just for participating. For DoylesRoom’s next major guaranteed event – to be held on March 13th and offering a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool – a player can earn a whopping 500 points for the Race to the Top promotion.
The February Race to the Top was a heated battle, as 350 players picked their share of the $65,000 being offered by DoylesRoom. For the first couple of weeks of the month, “Penny00” held the lead. By the middle of February, however, “AnthonyDSI” had surged to the top of the leaderboard and held the top slot for the remainder of the month.
“AnthonyDSI” was crowned the champion of the February Race to the Top and earned a $7,500 payday for his efforts. Despite falling short in second place, “Penny00” still earned $3,500 and “Boomulls” pulled into the third place slot, earning $2,500. The 350th place player picked up $10.
Even though it is early in the March Race to the Top, there is a battle atop the leaderboard. So far, “hhh1313” has been able to pick up 3,099 points to hold the lead over “Zerbert,” who currently sits at 2,637 points. “Penny00” currently holds down the third slot on the Race to the Top leaderboard with 2,186 points.
The Race to the Top points system is set up so that players are not penalized for playing at lower stakes or for being newcomers to DoylesRoom. For example, if a player were to take part in just the major guaranteed tournaments on DoylesRoom and earn points for the Race to the Top through that method, they would have 1,400 points. This would currently put a person in the top ten on the March leaderboard.
While the Race to the Top promotion is drawing a great deal of attention, there are other special promotions going on as well. The weekly $5,000 Bounty Tournament features the room’s namesake, poker legend Doyle Brunson, and several guests playing in a bounty format. This Wednesday night, Brunson will be stepping to the virtual felt with his guests, World Poker Tour champion Hoyt Corkins and the “Mad Genius of Poker” Mike Caro.
The Race to the Top and the Bounty Tournament are just two of the top promotions offered by DoylesRoom, which recently moved to the Yahatay Poker Network. For full details on these and other promotions, visit DoylesRoom.
