Per Poker News Daily, another bracelet was decided in the ¥800 WSOP Asia Championship, which brought in 35,095 entrants and created a ¥25,829,920 prize pool. The champion was a Belarusian player using the screen name “Fartu_Masti_Bro,” who beat Pavel “Brtz” Ignatov — listed in the GGPoker lobby as representing Latvia — in heads-up play.
According to Poker News Daily, the $1,500 Millionaire Maker played down to its final nine from a starting field of 5,518 entries. The event carried a $7,863,150 prize pool, and each remaining player had locked up at least $92,950. Austria’s Benjamin Rolle held the top chip stack with 127 big blinds, followed by Adrian Strobel with 67 big blinds and Loris Gauthier with 44 big blinds. The final table was set to get underway at 7:00 p.m. BST on September 1.
