In Sunday night’s episode of the GSN cash game series “High Stakes Poker,” Victory Poker Andrew “good2cu” Robl went broke in a hand against Patrik Antonius and Daniel Negreanu built a $300,000 pot.

The show began with Negreanu scooping back-to-back pots, one against Robl and the other at the expense of Tom “durrrr” Dwan. Then, fellow Team PokerStars Pro member Barry Greenstein took down his first pot. In the hand, Greenstein held A-K and fired out a bet of $20,000 on a flop of 10-2-5. Antonius, who held a wired pair of fours, and Negreanu, who had A-J, both got out of the way. Greenstein has appeared on all six seasons of “High Stakes Poker.”

The PokerStars-sponsored segment “Did You Know” examined the logic behind implied odds, while “30 Seconds with Kara Scott” examined the components of a good cash game. Back on the felts, Greenstein raised to $5,500 with K-Q of clubs and Robl made it $16,500 with A-K. Greenstein made the call and the flop came Q-J-7, giving him top pair despite being an underdog pre-flop. Greenstein check-called a bet of $20,500 from Robl and the turn fell an eight. Greenstein check-raised all-in for $113,000 after Robl bet $44,000 and the youngster quickly released his hand.

2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) November Nine member Phil Ivey raised to $6,000 pre-flop with K-10 of clubs and 2008 November Niner Dennis Phillips called with pocket eights. The flop came 5-5-K, giving Ivey kings-up, and the action went check-check. The turn was a three and Phillips fired out a bet of $12,000. Ivey called and the river was a deuce. Phillips eased off the gas and checked, Ivey bet $20,000, and Phillips made the call, shipping the $79,400 pot to Ivey.

Three key hands closed out the action on Sunday night’s “High Stakes Poker” episode. On a flop of 7-5-4, Phillips checked holding K-7 of spades, Dwan bet $26,200 with 10-2 of spades for air, and Phillips shoved all-in for $76,600. Dwan fold, leading to a particularly insightful comment from Greenstein: “You sit and you wait and eventually you do get K-7.” Greenstein may be one of several pros to appear on the “PokerStars Big Game,” the online poker site’s new cash game show that will air on Fox. Qualifiers for the “PokerStars Big Game” are currently being held on the world’s largest online poker site.

Then, Ivey raised to $7,000 pre-flop with K-10 of diamonds and Robl made the call with A-Q. Antonius raised to $30,400 with pocket aces and Robl moved all-in for $144,300. Antonius insta-called and the pair agreed to run the board twice. The first ran out 3-3-2-3-7, narrowly awarding Antonius half of the pot. The second board came 10-5-A-2-Q, giving Antonius all of the massive $299,600 pot. “High Stakes Poker” host Gabe Kaplan critiqued, “In a game this size with these kinds of players, that’s what happens with one misread.” Robl promptly rebought for another $200,000.

In the final hand of the night, Negreanu raised to $6,500 with J-8 and Dwan, who had made a straddle, peeked down at A-K and bumped the price of poker to $23,600. Negreanu called and the flop came A-J-A, giving Dwan trips. Negreanu, less than 1% to win with aces-up, called a $28,200 bet from Dwan and the turn was a king, improving Dwan to a boat. The man they call “durrrr” led out for $56,600 and Negreanu raised to $138,600. Dwan called and a 10 came on the river. Both players checked, giving Dwan the largest pot of the episode at $383,400.

Next week, Unabomber front man Phil Laak takes the place of Ivey and Negreanu and Dwan tangle once more. New episodes of “High Stakes Poker” air at 8:00pm ET on Sunday nights on GSN. Encore presentations of past seasons typically follow.
