In breaking news, PokerSoftware.com, which provides written and video reviews of many of the industry’s top poker software programs, has put yet another feather in its cap. This time, Poker Office was added to the site’s Free Poker Software program, which allows players to receive a complimentary piece of software just for signing up for a major online poker site like PokerStars or UB.com.

Poker Office, a popular poker tracking and analysis program, is in its fifth iteration. And to celebrate, it was just added to PokerSoftware’s Free Software promotion. The reviewers at PokerSoftware.com have lauded its arrival so far: “Poker Office has evolved over the years from a product that lacked a few keys features into a very mature product that gives players exactly what they want. Poker Office 5 is sure to be a real contender in the poker tracking and analysis marketplace.”

The true beauty of a tracking program is its Heads-Up Display, or HUD. If you’re not familiar with the concept, an HUD will display the stats of your opponents right on the table while you’re playing and update them in real-time. Want to know how often a player is raising pre-flop? It’s there. How about how often an opponent folds to a 3bet? That’s there too. Many of today’s top players use HUDs and an argument could be made that poker players not employing them are at a disadvantage at the tables.

In December, Poker Office continued its charge in the software community by introducing customizable overlay stats. Now, users could quite literally move stats around as they saw fit. Plus, no matter what site they were playing on, Poker Office could be used. In fact, the program supports nearly 200 online poker rooms. Poker Office 5 also features a helpful hand replayer and a wealth of graphs to chart your progress.

The Windows-based program regularly runs €99 per year for the Hold’em or Omaha versions. Alternately, you can grab the Full version, which incorporates both Hold’em and Omaha, for €175 per year. For those who aren’t ready to shell out that kind of money on a whim, you can take advantage of Poker Office’s 300-hand free trial.

For those who already have Poker Office, or are looking for another piece of free poker software, then check out all of the options available from PokerSoftware. The Free Software promotion also includes the industry giants PokerTracker and Holdem Manager, two of the most popular database programs around. Both will set you back $89, but are available for free by signing up for a new account on PokerStars, PartyPoker, Full Tilt, Absolute Poker, or UB.com.

Each site has a different set of play requirements, all of which are very easy to obtain. For example, on UB.com, you’ll need to deposit a minimum of $50 in a new account linked to PokerSoftware. After you’ve amassed 500 Ultimate Points, you’ll be rewarded with free poker software. On PokerStars, the requirements are a $50 minimum deposit and 500 Frequent Player Points, or FPPs.

All told, PokerSoftware now has nearly 30 programs to choose from as part of its Free Software promotion. They include Calculatem Pro, HandHQ, Holdem Genius, Holdem Indicator, Omaha Manager, Table Ninja, TableNinjaFT, and Tournament Indicator.
